The Chinese Embassy in Bangladesh held a symposium on Monday to mark the 105th founding anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC).
Ambassador Yao Wen attended the event and delivered the keynote address, said a statement released by the embassy.
From Bangladesh, Md Ismail Zabihullah, adviser to prime minister;
Altaf Hossain Choudhury, vice chairman of National Executive Committee; Mujib
Rahman, opposition lawmaker; and Asif Mahmud Shojib Bhuyain, spokesperson of
NCP, as well as representatives from other major political parties, think tanks
and academia attended the event.
Ambassador Yao elaborated on a speech Chinese President and
CPC General Secretary Xi Jinping has delivered marking CPC’s 105th founding
anniversary.
Yao noted that during Prime Minister Tarique Rahman's recent
visit to China, the CPC and the BNP signed a Memorandum of Understanding,
injecting new impetus into inter-party exchanges and cooperation.
The CPC stands ready to work with all friendly political
parties in Bangladesh to implement the important common understandings reached
by the leaders of the two countries, deepen exchanges on governance and
practical cooperation across various fields, and deliver greater benefits to
the two peoples, Yao added.
The participants at the symposium congratulated the CPC on
its 105th anniversary. They also expressed their expectation that the two
countries would work together to advance the development of a China-Bangladesh
community with a shared future in the new era.
