Four young leaders from Bangladesh have been recognised in the QECT 100 Young Leaders Awards 2026, announced by the Queen Elizabeth II Commonwealth Trust, marking the centenary of Queen Elizabeth II, said a press release.
The award honours 100 outstanding young
changemakers from across the Commonwealth, celebrating what would have been the
late monarch’s 100th birthday on 21 April 2026, and her long-standing belief in
the role of youth in shaping communities and the future.
The Bangladeshi recipients are Shah Rafayat
Chowdhury of Footsteps Bangladesh, Munia Islam Mozumder of Teach for
Bangladesh, Imran Hamin of Farm Solution BD, and Md Rezwanul Islam Shuvo of Eco
Sentinels Bangladesh.
Selected through a highly competitive process
from thousands of applications, the awardees were recognised for their
contributions across different sectors, including education and employability,
environment, food and agriculture, health, and inclusion.
The awards aim to highlight young leaders
whose initiatives are addressing key challenges across the Commonwealth. In the
coming months, the recipients will take part in different engagements,
capacity-building programmes and global networking opportunities to expand
their impact.
British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah
Cooke congratulated the winners, saying their work reflects shared Commonwealth
values of inclusion and innovation and honours Queen Elizabeth II’s commitment
to empowering young people to build a better future.
