Indian High Commissioner to Bangladesh Pranay Verma inaugurated a group art exhibition titled “CROSSROAD… not a project” at Galleri Kaya in Dhaka on Friday (3 April).
The exhibition features works by 11 contemporary Bangladeshi artists, including scholars of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). The artworks explore diverse themes, ranging from tributes to Language Movement martyrs to portrayals of everyday life and nature.

Speaking at the inauguration, the Pranay
Verma highlighted the role of art in strengthening bilateral ties. “In the
India-Bangladesh relationship, art is a very strong medium that brings our
people together. Apart from our shared history, geography, language, culture
and traditions, art has always been a foundational connector,” he said.
He noted that exchanges between artists of
the two countries have long been an integral part of their cultural engagement,
inspiring collaboration and creativity.
Verma also expressed hope for increased
artistic exchanges in the future, adding that India would continue to support
and facilitate such initiatives.
