Travel advisory issued for visitors to the USA

The US Embassy in Dhaka has issued a special travel advisory for individuals planning to visit the United States.

“If you're planning travel to the United States, make sure you have the financial means to pay your own way -- including any travel disruptions or medical emergencies that could arise,” the embassy said on its Facebook page on Saturday.

Visitors have been advised to come prepared for their visa interviews, including with any proof that demonstrates they are unlikely to become a public charge after entering the United States.

The embassy warned that presenting false documents is a form of fraud, which can disqualify applicants from obtaining a visa and may result in permanent ineligibility.
