EU extends condolences on passing of Khaleda Zia

The European Union has expressed deep condolences following the death of Bangladesh’s former prime minister and BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

In a message posted on its verified Facebook page on Tuesday, the EU in Bangladesh said it stood in sympathy with the people of the country at this time of national mourning.

“We extend our deepest condolences to the people of Bangladesh on the passing of Begum Khaleda Zia,” the message read.

The EU’s message adds to a series of condolence statements from foreign governments, international organisations and diplomatic missions mourning the death of the three-time former prime minister, whose passing has drawn widespread tributes both at home and abroad.
