China–Bangladesh joint cardiovascular clinic inaugurated at NICVD

The China–Bangladesh Joint Cardiovascular Disease Clinic was inaugurated on Tuesday at the National Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases (NICVD) in Dhaka, marking a new step in healthcare cooperation between the two countries, said a press release.
Ambassador of China to Bangladesh Yao Wen attended the ceremony alongside Nurjahan Begum, Adviser to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare; Ma Zuoxin, Deputy Director General of the Yunnan Foreign Affairs Office; and Shi Jinyang, Deputy Director of Fuwai Yunnan Hospital under the Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
According to the press release, a medical team from Yunnan Fuwai Hospital has already arrived in Bangladesh to begin operations at the clinic.
Speaking at the event, Ambassador Yao Wen said the establishment of the first China–Bangladesh joint clinic represents a major milestone in bilateral health cooperation and reflects the two countries’ long-standing mutual support.
He said the new facility opens a fresh chapter in collaboration and expressed hope that both nations would continue working together to strengthen public health governance, medical technology innovation and the development of the health industry, contributing further to the “Health Silk Road.”
Health Adviser Nurjahan Begum thanked China for its sustained support to Bangladesh’s health sector.
She said the joint clinic stands as an important example of the friendly partnership between the two nations and expressed hope for deeper cooperation to benefit more people.
