‘Even today, I can’t believe you are not here’

Three decades after the death of Dhallywood’s beloved hero Salman Shah, his co-stars and fans continue to cherish his memory. Among them, the on-screen chemistry between Salman Shah and Shabnoor still holds a special place in the hearts of Bangladeshi cinema lovers.
On the 30th anniversary of Salman Shah’s death, actress Shabnoor remembered her beloved co-star with an emotional message, reflecting on their shared memories and the enduring legacy he left behind.
Remembering Salman Shah, Shabnoor wrote, “Even today, I can’t believe that you are not here.”
She added, “Even after so many years, your memory remains indelible in our hearts. That beloved prince of the screen, that dream hero loved by millions; you are still alive in our memories and in our love.”
Shabnoor also spoke about the immense void created in the country’s film industry following Salman Shah’s untimely death. “The huge void created in our film industry by your untimely death has not been filled to this day,” she wrote.
The actress further noted that although time has passed and generations have changed, Salman Shah’s popularity and appeal have remained remarkably strong.
“Time has passed, generations have changed, but your popularity and the magic of your acting are still equally alive in the hearts of people,” she said.
Paying tribute to her former co-star with deep affection and respect, Shabnoor concluded, “On the 30th anniversary of your passing, I offer my humble respects and endless love. Wherever you are, be well, dear Salman Shah. May Allah grant you a place in Jannah.” 
Salman Shah passed away on 6 September 1996, sending shockwaves through the entire Bangladeshi film industry.
