The attack on Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff has raised serious questions about the safety and security of actors and the citizens at large. Amid this, a new development has now come to light, claiming that the alleged attackers had reportedly conducted reconnaissance of the homes of several Bollywood celebrities, including Amitabh Bachchan and Salman Khan, before firing at Tiger Shroff, as per sources in the Mumbai Crime Branch.
Sources reportedly told Times Now that the Mumbai Police interrogated the three accused in the case. During a 16-hour road journey from Kota, where they were arrested, to Mumbai, the three accused admitted that their targets were Salman, Akshay Kumar and Aamir Khan. However, Salman allegedly seemed unreachable due to tight security and hence they later planned to target Tiger since he was an 'easier' option.
A person reportedly told them that Tiger often came to play football matches in Juhu on Sundays. Since the Baaghi star had less security, he was an 'easy' target for them. A week before the firing incident, the three reportedly visited the same football ground on 11 October with the intention to attack Tiger. However, the actor wasn't present that day. They returned on 18 October and carried out the attack.
Following their detention in Kota, the accused were brought to Mumbai on wednesday. Their medical checkup is reportedly being done, following which they will be produced in court. Further interrogation could reveal more details about the real mastermind of the incident and Anil Pandit's role.
Apart from Salman, Akshay and Aamir, legendary actor Amitabh Bachchan was also on their radar, according to Bhaskhar English. The accused allegedly claimed that they earlier conducted recces outside Big B, Akshay and Aamir's homes too.
On 18 October Tiger was attacked while exiting a football ground in Juhu. Multiple shots were fired at the actor by three motorcycle-borne men, who fled the scene. Within hours of the incident, a man named Anil Pandit, claiming to be from the Lawrence Bishnoi gang, took responsibility for the attack.
During the preliminary interrogation, it was also revealed that the attack on Tiger was intended to spread fear in the industry. Meanwhile, several members of the film industry, including Suniel Shetty, Amaal Mallik, Mika Singh, Vidyut Jammwal, Shatrughan Sinha, and Ravi Kishan, have condemned the attack and raised their concerns.
