Prantar embraces a vibrant role in Giasuddin Selim’s ‘Separation’

Actor Prantar Dastider is set to appear in filmmaker Giasuddin Selim’s upcoming web fiction “Separation”. The project marks Prantar’s first collaboration with the acclaimed director, and filming for his portions has already been completed.
In “Separation”, Prantar portrays Sadab, a glamour and fashion photographer who works for a magazine. Describing his character, Prantar said Sadab is charming, proactive and confident, with a distinctly joyful approach to life.
For Prantar, working with Giasuddin Selim proved to be an experience that went beyond his expectations. 
“It was beyond expectations. He is probably one of the most energetic directors I have worked with. It is really, really fun to see him on set. I don’t mean that he is funny or comedic, but you can feel the joy at the core of your heart,” Prantar said.
The actor also recalled Selim’s approach during rehearsals, noting that the director creates an atmosphere that allows performers to remain deeply connected with their characters.
“Even during rehearsals, he has this aura that engages his characters. Even when an actor is not getting something right, he implements the characteristics in such a way that the actor himself never feels tired,” he said.
Speaking about what sets “Separation” apart from other projects, Prantar highlighted the interconnectedness of its characters and relationships.
“There are different characters in the story, but the maker creates a graph so fine that everyone has to connect. It is about bonds, connections and understandings of life and relationships, as well as the strings connected to one’s own heart and mind. It is kind of like a coming-of-age story,” he explained.
The actor said his expectations from the project have already been fulfilled simply through the opportunity to work with such a talented cast and crew.
“Separation” also features Pori Moni, Imtiaz Barshon, Nirob Hossain and Sharlin Farzana in key roles. The web film is scheduled to premiere on streaming platform iScreen, although its release date has yet to be announced.
