Popular Bangladeshi singer Balam is set to perform in Sweden for the first time, bringing his music to the Bangladeshi diaspora in the Nordic country. The concert will take place on 28 June at Hallunda Folkets Hus in Stockholm.
Titled “Celebrating 33 Years of Balam’s Musical Journey – Live in Stockholm,” the event will mark the singer’s three-decade-long career in the music industry. Balam is expected to perform many of his most popular and fan-favorite songs during the live show.
The Stockholm concert is part of his European tour, which also includes performances in Rome and Venice, Italy, before he heads to Sweden to entertain Bangladeshi music lovers living abroad.
Expressing his enthusiasm ahead of the event, Balam said, “This will be my first visit to Sweden. I’m excited to meet the Bangladeshi community there and perform for them. I believe it will be a memorable experience.”
The singer is currently busy working on several new music projects. In recent years, he has once again drawn widespread attention with hit songs such as “O Priyotoma” and “Rajkumar”.
The announcement of Balam’s first-ever performance in Sweden has generated considerable excitement among members of the Bangladeshi community.
According to the organisers, all preparations have already been completed to ensure a successful event and provide a safe and enjoyable experience for attendees. Guests are expected to travel from different parts of Sweden as well as neighboring European countries to attend the concert.
The concert is being organised by “Stage For Youth Multicultural Association Sweden”. Eleyas Hossain, President of the organisation and one of the event organisers, said, “We want to offer a memorable cultural evening for Bengali-speaking people living in Sweden. We are delighted to bring a legendary artist like Balam to Stockholm for the very first time.”
The venue doors will open at 5pm. Visitors will also have the opportunity to enjoy a variety of food and business stalls arranged as part of the event.
