Acclaimed Bangladeshi filmmaker Amitabh Reza Chowdhury is tying the knot today in New York, US, with Mushficaa Maasud, a screenwriter and director. Amitabh, who has been residing in New York for the past few months, confirmed the news himself. The wedding ceremony is scheduled to take place this morning in New York local time.

On Friday, Amitabh Reza shared a photograph of the couple on Facebook, writing: “Sometimes fellow travelers, sometimes fellow fighters, but I never thought I would spend my life with someone wittier than me. Ohh life….”

It is learnt that, the bride Mushficaa Maasud completed her law degree at Liverpool John Moores University in the United Kingdom before studying post-production at the Feirstein Graduate School of Cinema in New York. She later pursued film production at Brookline College.

Speaking to the media, Mushficaa Maasud expressed her admiration for the filmmaker. “Amitabh is a very wonderful person—extremely talented, a great film director. We both speak like we are on the same page. To be honest, the way he loves, it is truly incredible that a Bengali can love like this. His love has taught me how to love,” she said. Following Amitabh Reza’s Facebook post, many colleagues from the entertainment industry extended their warm wishes to the couple.

This wedding marks Amitabh Reza’s third marriage. He was previously married to actors Nowrin Hasan Khan Jenny and Zakia Rashid Mim. Both marriages ended in separation.
