The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) has arrested three armed criminals, including notorious gangster Al-Amin, during an overnight operation in Dhaka district.

A foreign-made pistol, a magazine, and a live round were recovered during this time, said a press release.

RAB-4 officials said Al-Amin, 38, known for once firing on law enforcers to escape arrest, was captured from Baliarpur Bus Stand under Savar Police Station.

His accomplice Jewel Mia, 45, was arrested from Dewanbari, while Rajib Hossain, 38, was apprehended from Paragram in Ashulia with the illegal firearm and ammunition.

According to case records and RAB intelligence, the trio are members of inter-district robbery gangs.

They are accused of carrying out armed robberies, extortion, and intimidation using domestic and foreign firearms.

Their activities include looting houses and ambushing buses, trucks, and cargo vehicles on highways and regional roads, according to the release.

All three have previous criminal cases involving robbery, illegal arms, and narcotics. They have been handed over to the respective police stations for further legal action.
