The government is set to recruit 223 skilled male workers
for a Malaysian company through Bangladesh Overseas Employment and Services
Limited (BOESL), offering a monthly basic salary of 1,700 Malaysian ringgit (Tk52,300)
with no migration cost.
According to a recruitment notice issued by BOESL on
Thursday, the workers will be employed by DHL Supply Chain (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd
in two categories – Operations Assistant and Technical Skill Workers.
Of the total vacancies, 112 are for Operations Assistants
and 111 for Technical Skill Workers. Both positions offer a basic monthly
salary of 1,700 ringgit.
Interested candidates can apply online from 10:00am on 6
November until 4:00pm on 8 November through the Overseas Employment Platform
(OEP) at https://employee.oep.gov.bd/employee/registration.
Applicants must be aged between 22 and 35. The minimum
educational qualification for Operations Assistant is Secondary School
Certificate (SSC) or equivalent, while candidates for Technical Skill Workers
must have at least Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) or equivalent.
Candidates for Operations Assistant positions must have
English communication skills, basic computer knowledge, proficiency in
Microsoft Excel and mathematical skills.
They should also be capable of working independently,
handling multiple tasks and working in a warehouse environment. One to two
years of relevant practical experience is required.
Experience in operating forklifts, power pallet trucks and
reach trucks will be considered an additional qualification.
For Technical Skill Workers, candidates with vocational,
polytechnic or graduate qualifications, particularly those with an electrical
background, will receive preference.
They must have a good understanding of warehouse network cabling,
racking systems and IT equipment, along with computer proficiency and the
ability to use Microsoft Excel. English communication skills and the ability to
understand standard operating procedures are also required.
The employment contract will be for three years, renewable
upon agreement. Workers will be required to work eight hours a day, six days a
week, with overtime subject to the employer's requirements and Malaysian labour
laws.
The employer will provide accommodation, primary medical
facilities and transportation. Applicants must have passports valid for at
least 18 to 24 months. Candidates with valid driving licences and relevant work
experience at home or abroad will receive preference.
BOESL said a preliminary selection of 300 candidates would
be made through a computer-based lottery.
The shortlisted candidates' names will be published on the
organisation's official website.
The final 223 workers will be selected through technical and
oral examinations conducted by representatives of the Malaysian company.
Each applicant can apply for only one position. Online
applications, interviews and preliminary selection will not guarantee
employment, as the final decision rests with the employer.
Candidates attending the interview must bring four recent
colour passport-size photographs with a white background, photocopies of all
passports if they hold more than one, original educational and experience
certificates, their national identity cards and updated CVs.
The CVs should clearly mention computer literacy,
particularly Microsoft Excel skills, mathematical ability, driving licence
status and any previous overseas or warehouse work experience.
BOESL has warned candidates against financial transactions
related to the recruitment process, saying selected workers will not have to
pay any money at any stage.
It also cautioned applicants against dealing with anyone demanding money in connection with the recruitment.
