Bangladesh's remittance inflows increased by 14.7% year-on-year during the first four months of the current fiscal year 2026-27, reflecting a continued contribution from expatriate Bangladeshis to the country's economy.
The country received $11.687 billion in remittances between 1 July and 1 November, compared to $10.192 billion during the corresponding period of the previous fiscal year.
Meanwhile, expatriate Bangladeshis sent $222 million in remittances on 1 November this year, significantly higher than the $43 million received on the same day last year.
The latest figures indicate a substantial rise in daily remittance inflows, highlighting the growing contribution of overseas workers to the country's foreign currency earnings.
Remittances remain a major source of foreign exchange for Bangladesh, helping strengthen the country's foreign exchange reserves and support external sector stability.
The continued growth in remittance inflows is also expected to provide support to the country's balance of payments and overall macroeconomic stability.
