With a view to expanding financing opportunities for the export-oriented
frozen food industry, Community Bank Bangladesh PLC has signed an agreement
with Bangladesh Bank (BB).
Community Bank would extend financing support under its specialised
scheme titled “BDT 20 billion Pre-Finance Fund for the Export-Oriented Frozen
Food Sector.”
The agreement signing ceremony was organised by the
Agricultural Credit Department-2 (ACD-2) of BB. Arief Hossain Khan, executive
director of Bangladesh Bank, attended the event as the Chief Guest, while AKM
Sayduzzaman, director of ACD-2 at Bangladesh Bank, presided over the ceremony.
Also present at the event was Muhammad Ansarul Kabir, additional director of
Bangladesh Bank.
Representing Community Bank Bangladesh PLC, the event was
attended by Shamsul Haque Sufyani, chief operating officer, and Sharif Hasan
Mamun, of the SME and Agriculture Division.
Under this pre-financing facility, entrepreneurs engaged in
the export-oriented frozen food sector will have greater access to financing
opportunities. The initiative is expected to facilitate investment in the
sector, strengthen production and processing capabilities, and support the
expansion of export activities.
The initiative is also expected to play a significant role
in increasing foreign exchange earnings, creating new investment opportunities,
and strengthening Bangladesh's position in the global frozen food market.
Easier access to financing will further support entrepreneurs in enhancing
their competitiveness and contributing to the sustainable development of the
industry.
Community Bank Bangladesh PLC believes that this initiative
will serve as an important catalyst for the growth of Bangladesh's
export-oriented industries. Through its participation in this programme, the
bank aims to support promising entrepreneurs in the frozen food sector while
contributing to the country's export growth and overall economic development.
The initiative reflects a shared commitment to unlocking the
potential of Bangladesh's frozen food industry, ensuring sustainable industrial
growth, and strengthening the country's position in international markets.
