Banglalink unveils ‘Mukto’ to redefine digital convenience

Banglalink is set to transform its MyBL self-service app into Mukto, a digital platform designed to bring telecom products, connectivity and lifestyle services under one roof, regardless of which mobile operator users subscribe to.

Bangladesh’s first telco-agnostic digital platform, Mukto will allow users to access services through a universal login using social media accounts, local mobile numbers or international numbers from anywhere in the world, according to a press release.

Mukto is an open and accessible digital platform that brings together a diverse range of experiences, including entertainment offerings like music, stories, Islamic advice, the latest news and sports, alongside telecom services and options that address everyday needs.

An AI-powered personalisation feature of the app will recommend products and services based on individual interests and preferences. The app will also allow users to manage their own mobile numbers as well as those of family members and loved ones.

Kazi Mahboob Hassan, chief marketing officer of Banglalink, said the platform reflects the company's focus on understanding customers' needs beyond connectivity.

“Putting customers first means recognising that their needs extend far beyond connectivity. People do not organise their digital lives around telecom operators. They want technology that fits naturally into their everyday routines and makes life simpler, more convenient and more personal. With Mukto, we want to bring these experiences together in one place and make them accessible to everyone,” he said.

The platform marks a shift in Banglalink’s digital strategy, from developing services primarily for its own subscribers to offering a wider range of digital experiences to users across mobile networks.

Through Mukto, the company aims to make digital services more accessible and relevant to everyday life as it moves towards becoming a customer-first, digital-first technology company.
