The Australian government and businesses are interested to
invest in Bangladesh green energy sectors, according to a statement released by
the Australian High Commission in Dhaka on Wednesday.
“Australia and Bangladesh are joining forces to accelerate
the shift toward a cleaner, electrified future, driven by a recent high-level
trade delegation of Australian clean energy companies,” the statement read.
Organised by Austrade, the Australian government’s trade and
investment promotion agency, the delegation has held meeting with Bangladeshi government
and industry leaders, the High Commission added in the statement.
The delegation of Aussie businesses is also working towards building
partnerships with Bangladeshi businesses in battery storage, solar PV,
electrical engineering and EV charging.
The Australian High Commission and Austrade have also
launched a new scoping study, “Unlocking Bangladesh-Australia Renewable Energy
Partnership Potential.”
The feasibility study highlights investment opportunities and policy frameworks to strengthen Bangladesh’s energy security, and turn clean energy potential into lasting growth for both nations, the statement concluded.
