Global digital banking platform Fasset has signed a remittance service agreement with NRB Bank PLC, marking its first banking partnership in Bangladesh to provide freelancers, remote workers, and offshore entrepreneurs with a direct, formal banking channel to repatriate overseas earnings.

The agreement was signed on 22 September 2026 at NRB Bank PLC's Corporate Head Office in Dhaka in the presence of senior leadership from both organisations.

Under the agreement, NRB Bank will disburse funds from Fasset to recipients in Bangladesh. For the first time, Fasset's community of freelancers, remote workers and offshore-based business owners will have a direct banking route into the country.

Users who are paid by overseas clients and employers through Fasset will be able to bring those earnings home through NRB Bank, at exchange rates set by the bank, with every transfer moving through a formal banking channel.

Recipients will have a bank-verified record of their foreign earnings. Business owners will also benefit from streamlined documentation of their export earnings.

Saad Naveed Pall, chief growth officer of Fasset, said, "We are thrilled to collaborate with NRB Bank PLC to deepen our footprint in Bangladesh. This agreement aligns perfectly with our vision of building a frictionless, technology-driven cross-border ecosystem. Together, we aim to deliver next-generation financial services that simplify remittances and empower communities through digital accessibility."

Asif Nahin Taposh, country manager (Bangladesh) at Fasset, added, "Bangladesh's freelancers, remote professionals and entrepreneurs earn from clients all over the world, and they deserve a simple, trusted way to bring that money home. With NRB Bank, Fasset users now have a direct banking route into Bangladesh, with every transfer moving through formal channels. This is our first bank partnership in the country, and we are just getting started."

Compliance and user safety are central to the partnership. All disbursements will be carried out by NRB Bank PLC, an Authorised Dealer bank, through formal banking channels.

They will follow Bangladesh Bank's foreign exchange regulations and the anti-money laundering and combating the financing of terrorism (AML/CFT) requirements overseen by the Bangladesh Financial Intelligence Unit (BFIU).

Fasset will carry out customer-side KYC and AML checks. Before funds are credited, NRB Bank will conduct beneficiary validation and local AML screening, so every transfer is secure and traceable from end to end.

Anwar Uddin, additional managing director & COO and CAMLCO of NRB Bank PLC, said, "This partnership represents a major step forward in our efforts to drive remittance growth and enhance customer convenience. By joining forces with Fasset, we are leveraging cutting-edge digital financial innovation to ensure that non-resident Bangladeshis have access to faster, safer, and more reliable channels to send their hard-earned money back home."

Fasset was represented at the ceremony by Saad Naveed Pall, chief growth officer; Asif Nahin Taposh, country manager (Bangladesh); and Kazi Sazidul Hasan, global senior product manager. NRB Bank PLC was represented by Anwar Uddin, additional managing director & COO and CAMLCO; Kimiwa Saddat, additional managing director & CBO; Mohammed Towfiqul Alam Chowdhury, senior executive vice president; and Khaja Wasiullah, first vice president & head of cards, along with senior management and officials of the bank.

The agreement reflects Fasset's commitment to building trusted, locally connected financial services for Bangladesh's global workforce. Fasset and NRB Bank will continue to explore opportunities to improve cross-border remittance services and to build a more efficient and accessible remittance ecosystem in Bangladesh.
