The energy regulator on Wednesday hiked jet fuel price for
domestic and international flights by nearly 10.3% for October – marking the
second consecutive monthly hike.
The jet fuel price for domestic flights has been raised by
Tk17.6 to Tk182.71 per litre while that for international flights has been
hiked by $0.1112 to $1.1882 per litre.
The new rates would come into effect from midnight, said the
Bangladesh Energy Regulatory Commission (BERC) in a notification issued
Wednesday.
The prices have been hiked owing to the rising rates of the
average published Platts rate for Jet A-1 between 5 September and 4 October,
and the elevated US dollar exchange rate, read the BERC order.
In September, BERC had raised the domestic jet fuel rate to
Tk165.65 per litre from Tk159.52, while the international rate was increased to
$1.0770 from $1.0358 per litre.
