Milk Vita,
the state-owned dairy cooperative, has raised the price of one-litre packaged milk
by Tk10 to Tk110 per litre, resulting in a 10% hike, to cope with rising
production cost.
The price of
half-litre standard milk has been also increased by 10% to Tk60, and that of
toned milk to Tk55.
The new
prices came into effect on 5 August, Milk Vita said in a statement on Monday.
The prices
for collecting milk from farmers has also been raised from 1 August, it added.
Rising
prices of fodder, packages, fuel and electricity have contributed to the hike
in retail prices, Milk Vita said.
