Banglalink's KM Zakaria joins Sammilito Islami Bank board

The government has appointed KM Zakaria, Strategic Projects Consultant at Banglalink and Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Neo PSP Limited, as a director of state-owned Sammilito Islami Bank PLC for a three-year term, bringing more than three decades of private sector leadership to the board of the country's newly established Islamic banking institution.

The Ministry of Finance also appointed chartered accountant Mohammad Ahsan Habib Chowdhury as a director for the same tenure.

Zakaria is a veteran business, finance and supply chain executive with over 30 years of leadership experience across the telecommunications, FMCG, manufacturing and financial services sectors.

His appointment is expected to strengthen the bank's governance and strategic direction as it advances the government's banking sector reform agenda.
