A three-day international exhibition titled “SAFE HVAC-R and Cold Chain 2026” began at the International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) in Dhaka on Thursday.
Rashed Al Mahmud Titumir, adviser to the prime minister on the finance and planning ministries, attended the inauguration as the chief guest. The exhibition has been organised by Savor International Limited.
Speaking at the event, Titumir said the government will take initiatives to simplify tax policies and all investment-related regulations to ensure a more investment-friendly environment in the country.
He said equal opportunities would be ensured for both local and foreign investors by removing market irregularities and artificial barriers, enabling Bangladesh to emerge as one of the leading destinations for international investment.
Titumir also said that although Vietnam and Indonesia are currently ahead as major investment hubs, Bangladesh is expected to become one of the world’s most attractive investment destinations in the future.
According to him, Bangladesh is now one of the most promising investment destinations in South Asia.
Calling upon foreign investors to invest in Bangladesh, he particularly urged countries, including Türkiye, to come forward with greater investment initiatives.
He further said Bangladesh could emerge as a regional investment hub in the future if proper policies, transparency, and a business-friendly environment are ensured.
The organisers said the exhibition will showcase technologies, products, and innovations in the HVAC-R and cold chain industries, while creating opportunities for collaboration and exchange of experiences among local and foreign investors, entrepreneurs, and policymakers.
It is also expected to contribute to attracting new investments and expanding business opportunities in the sector.
Among others present at the event were Bilal Belyurt, commercial counsellor, the Embassy of the Republic of Türkiye in Dhaka; Li Xiao, director, Yunnan Commercial Representative Office in Bangladesh; Lutfar Rahman Talukder, president, Bangladesh Air-Conditioning Equipment Importers Association (BAEIA); Md Moshiur Rahman, president, India-Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IBCCI); Anwar Shahid, president, Bangladesh Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BMCCI); Anwarul Islam, president, Bangladesh Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Merchants Association (BRAMA); Al Emran Hossain, president, ASHRAE Bangladesh Chapter and Bangladesh Green Building Academy; Md Hasmotuzzaman, former president, ASHRAE Bangladesh Chapter; and Md Faizul Alam, managing director, Savor International Limited.
