Walton Hi-Tech Industries PLC has signed separate agreements with three leading architectural and engineering consultancy firms to construct what is being described as the country’s largest iconic office tower in the Bashundhara Residential Area of Dhaka.

The agreements were signed at Walton Corporate Office on 3 May with Vistaara Architects Private Limited, Abode of Consultants (Pvt) Limited, and BN Engineering.

Under the deals, the firms will provide consultancy services covering architectural design, structural planning, engineering solutions, and other related aspects of the proposed office tower, according to a press release.

According to company officials, the Walton Iconic Tower will be built on a 14.3-bigha plot with a total floor area of approximately 1.8 million square feet. In the first phase, a 13-storey state-of-the-art sustainable green office building with around nine lakh square feet of space will be constructed on seven bigha of land. The building will also feature three basement levels.

Walton Hi-Tech Chief Financial Officer and Additional Managing Director Md. Among others present at the ceremony were Walton Hi-Tech Chairman S M Shamsul Alam, Managing Director S M Mahbubul Alam, Directors S M Nurul Alam Rezvi and S M Rezaul Alam, along with senior officials from the consultancy firms.

Speaking on the occasion, S M Mahbubul Alam said a good office is not merely about an attractive building; rather, it is about creating an environment where people can work comfortably, express creativity and deliver their best performance.

“A modern office must be smart, sustainable and human-centric. Through this agreement, we are not only building offices; we are developing institutions that will represent the future of Bangladesh’s corporate and industrial capability,” he said.

He added that the planned office tower would reflect Walton’s long-term vision of innovation, technological advancement and global competitiveness.

“This is not only Walton’s dream; it is also part of our broader commitment to showcasing Bangladesh’s industrial strength, design capability and sustainable development mindset to the world,” Mahbubul Alam added.

Architect Mustapha Khalid Palash said, “Walton is our national pride. This initiative comes at a time when Walton is expanding its footprint in electronics, electrical appliances, ICT products and other high-tech industrial sectors both local and global stages.”

He added that the buildings would incorporate international-standard architecture, smart space planning, advanced engineering solutions, modern digital facilities, environment-friendly materials and energy-efficient systems.
