Each farmer to get at least Tk7,000 support for haor flooding: Agri Minister

Agriculture Minister Mohammad Amin-ur-Rashid on Monday said the government will provide minimum Tk7,000 as compensation to each farmer for losses caused by the recent flash floods in the northeastern haor areas.

Based on the severity of losses a farmer could get a higher sum of money, the minister added, noting the cash distribution will continue for the next three months.

He announced the financial support at the Osmani Memorial Auditorium in the capital on the second day of the DC Conference.
