Govt to announce its first budget on 11 June
National budgets are traditionally announced in the first week of June every year, but this year, officials have picked the second week due to Eid-ul-Azha vacation

Finance Minister Amir Khasru Mahmud Chowdhury will unveil
the first package of budget proposals under the BNP-led government at the
National Parliament at 3pm on 11 June.
The budget proposals will be announced for the upcoming July
2026-June 2027 fiscal year. Size of the budget is still being discussed with
stakeholders, said sources at the Ministry of Finance.
As per tradition, the budget proposals are tabled at the Parliament
in the first week of June. This year, the Eid-ul-Azha vacation will coincide
with the first week of June, prompting officials to fix the last working day of
the month’s second week for announcing the budget.
