The Bangladesh AI Business Summit 2026 will be held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre (BCFCC) in Sher-E-Bangla Nagar, Dhaka, on Thursday.

Science and Technology Minister Fakir Mahbub Anam announced the event at a press conference at the ministry’s conference room at the Secretariat on Tuesday morning.

Themed “AI-fication for Tomorrow’s Economy”, the summit is being jointly organised by the Ministry of Science and Technology (MoST) and the Dhaka Chamber of Commerce and Industry (DCCI).

President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir will attend the opening ceremony as the chief guest.
Fakir Mahbub said artificial intelligence was reshaping the global economy in the era of the Fourth Industrial Revolution.

“The summit is built on the combination of People, Business and Intelligence,” he said.

The summit will feature three thematic sessions. The first, scheduled for noon, will bring policymakers and experts together to discuss the direction of the AI revolution and related policy, skills and infrastructure challenges.

A parallel session at the Hall of Fame will focus on strengthening academia-industry partnerships and technology transfer. The third session, scheduled for 3pm, will examine the role of AI agents as “digital colleagues” and their potential to address local problems.

The event will feature 142 exhibition stalls run by local and international companies, technology providers and innovators. More than 150 startups and technology firms will showcase their ideas and projects.

Students from 20 educational institutions, including 19 universities and one college, will also present AI projects and prototypes at dedicated innovation stalls.

Five foreign exhibitors will participate, including one from the United States and four from Pakistan.
Anam said around 6,000 visitors and 2,000 invited guests were expected to attend, including 200 special guests from DCCI and the ministry.

Around 27 speakers and panellists, including local and foreign policymakers, industry experts, academics, researchers, corporate representatives and development partners, will address the summit.

He expressed hope that the joint initiative by MoST and DCCI would play a pioneering role in transforming industry and trade through responsible AI and building a sustainable AI ecosystem.
