A 19-member Bangladeshi delegation took part in the Global Digital Forum 2026 in Moscow, joining international discussions on artificial intelligence (AI), cybersecurity, digital education and cross-border technology cooperation.
The forum, held from 8 to 10 October under the slogan “Communicate. Connect. Create.” brought together more than 1,300 participants, including 730 experts from 111 countries, according to a press release issued by Russian House Bangladesh.
Bangladeshi entrepreneurs, researchers, educators and students participated in the event, with two delegates contributing to panel discussions.
Khan Mohammad Nakib, chief executive officer of DianaHost, spoke on the value of domain names as digital assets, while Md Saddam Hossain Roni, an independent researcher and developer at Talk Hope Integrated Model (THIM), joined a discussion on trust in media in the age of AI.
The delegation also included senior government representatives, including Fakir Mahbub Anam, minister for posts, telecommunications and information technology and minister for science and technology, and Md Nazrul Islam, Bangladesh’s ambassador to Russia.
Several Bangladeshi institutions and universities signed memorandums of understanding with Russian organisations during the forum, creating potential opportunities for cooperation in technology, education and research.
Organised in Moscow with the support of the Russian government, the three-day forum featured more than 60 sessions covering AI governance, digital sovereignty, online safety, cybersecurity and smart cities.
The organisers also reported more than 200 bilateral meetings and the signing of 150 agreements and memorandums.
The participation offered Bangladeshi young professionals and students an opportunity to contribute to international discussions and explore partnerships with Russian institutions.
