Bangladesh Honda Private Limited has introduced the 110cc Honda Dio scooter at Tk1.57 lakh, expanding its model line-up in the country’s two-wheeler market.
Available at authorised Honda exclusive dealer showrooms nationwide since Friday, the scooter is powered by a 109.51cc PGM-FI engine that produces 10.82 PS of power and 9.03 Nm of torque, according to a press release.
The Dio features a Combi Brake System (CBS), side-stand engine cut-off and a lightweight 101.5kg body. With a 765mm seat height, it is designed for easy handling in busy traffic. An 18-litre under-seat compartment, external fuel lid and 15W Type-C charging port add to its everyday practicality.
Susumu Morisawa, managing director and CEO of Bangladesh Honda Private Limited, said the new Dio was designed to meet the everyday mobility needs of urban commuters, including young people and first-time riders.
He added that local production would help the company offer the scooter at an affordable price while maintaining Honda’s quality standards.
Shah Muhammad Ashequr Rahman, chief marketing officer of the company, said the Dio combines easy handling, convenience and style, with fuel-saving technology aimed at helping riders reduce running costs.
The scooter comes with a two-year or 20,000km warranty, whichever comes first, plus five free services and two paid services. Buyers can choose from Mat Marvel Blue Metallic, Mat Axis Gray Metallic and Imperial Red Metallic.
