Bangladesh has received its third US wheat shipment under the Government-to-Government (G2G) programme.
The vessel MV WECO TATI, carrying 60,875 tonnes of wheat, arrived at the outer anchorage of Mongla Port, the Ministry of Food confirmed on Saturday.
The shipment, purchased under a cash contract, was delivered as part of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the governments of Bangladesh and the United States.
Under the agreement, Bangladesh is set to import a total of 440,000 tonnes of wheat from the US. The first two consignments of 56,959 tonnes and 60,802 tonnes arrived on 25 October and 3 November 2025, respectively.
Authorities have already begun sampling and quality testing of the wheat on board and are making arrangements for prompt unloading following successful inspection.
Officials said the G2G wheat imports are intended to bolster Bangladesh’s food security and ensure a stable supply of essential commodities for the nation.
