The interim government has proposed a Tk49,433 crore budget for the rail, road, and waterways sector—Tk6,708 crore less than the Tk56,141.09 crore allocated in the 2024–25 fiscal year.
 The proposed budget for the shipping sector stands at Tk9,387.62 crore, down from Tk10,373.45 crore in the previous fiscal year.
 The proposed railway budget is Tk7,715 crore, significantly lower than the Tk13,725.64 crore allocated in the current fiscal year.

 In his budget speech, Finance Adviser Dr Salehuddin Ahmed stated, "The government has initiated steps to update the existing Road Master Plan 2009 as part of its commitment to developing a sustainable, safe, cost-effective, and environmentally friendly road network."
 "Additionally, the draft of the 'Highway Master Plan 2040', prepared with assistance from the Asian Development Bank, is nearing completion,” he added.
 “The government has initiated amendments to various laws, rules, and policies to make the road transport system more sustainable, safe, and environmentally friendly,” said the adviser.
