BNP Joint Secretary General Syed Emran Saleh Prince has said misinformation and disinformation have become opposition’s political tools.
“Jamaat-NCP are trying to create instability in the
country by running confusing publicity against the government like the banned
Awami League,” Prince said.
Prince made the remarks while speaking as chief
guest at a protest rally at Dhobaura Bazar in Mymensingh on Thursday.
The rally was held to protest against the subversive
activities by the banned Awami League and the continuous statements by the opposition.
Noting that BNP government is not against the
constructive criticism and responsible role by the opposition, Prince said, “The
country’s people and democracy will be hampered if every issue is turned into a
movement to unseat the government.”
Urging the opposition to present any alternative
plan to the government and the people, Prince added the government might
consider it if the plan is realistic and acceptable.
Speaking about AL’s subversive activities, Prince
further said, “The defeated forces of the mass uprising are trying to create
instability once again. The people must remain alert against any such plot, and
political, administrative and legal steps must be taken against those
associated with the violence.”
Local BNP leaders were present at the rally.
