Bashundhara Shuvosangho has held a tree plantation programme in Narail to protect ecological balance, fight the adverse impact of climate change and create awareness among the students to preserve the environment.
Shuvosangho’s Narail district unit planted different
species of saplings at the Baliadanga Secondary Girls’ High School on Sunday.
Shuvosangho’s district unit President Faisal Shikder
Setu led the initiative.
During the event, organisers said the role of tree
plantation is endless for the wellbeing of people, conservation of biodiversity
and balance of natural environment.
The environment is gradually falling into risk due
to incessant deforestation, destruction of forests and climate change. To fight
this crisis, everyone needs to come forward to plant more trees and protect the
existing ones.
The school’s Headteacher Md Saiful Islam said, “We
wholeheartedly welcome such environment-friendly initiative by Shuvosangho. Tree
plantation at educational institutions not only increases the beauty but
creates love and responsibility for the nature among the students. We hope for
Shuvosangho’s further success and the continuation of such initiatives in the
future for the welfare of the people and the society.”
Shuvosangho members expressed their eagerness to
motivate students to conservation of nature and spread the message of afforestation
at the local level through this initiative.
