Meeting on dengue prevention held in Barguna

Bashundhara Shuvosangho has urged everyone to prevent dengue through increasing public awareness and coordinated efforts while ensuring proper medical care.

A rally and a discussion meeting were held by Shuvosangho’s Patharghata upazila unit on Wednesday morning.

The awareness-raising rally was brought out from Patharghata roundabout in the morning. The meeting was held at the hall room of the upazila health complex later.

The event was presided over by upazila unit President Shafiqul Islam Khokon, where Health and Family Planning Officer of the upazila health complex Dr Mehedi Hasan attended as chief guest.

During the meeting, the speakers emphasised keeping houses and nearby areas clean, preventing the accumulation of water and destroying the breeding grounds of Aedes mosquito.

Speakers urged the attendees to consult doctors immediately if dengue symptoms are identified, while stating that the social organisations, the health directorate and people should work together to raise awareness on the matter.
