Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Jamalpur district chapter has
gifted tree saplings to the families of 10 newborn babies, promoting
environmental awareness through a gesture celebrating new life.
Members of the organisation handed over one sapling to each
family at Shah Jamal General Hospital in Jamalpur on Monday.
The initiative aimed to encourage tree planting, promote
environmental conservation and inspire a love for nature among the next
generation.
Instead of traditional gifts such as flowers or toys, the
organisation chose saplings to connect the joy of a child’s birth with the
message of building a greener world.
Among those present were Bashundhara Shuvosangho Jamalpur district chapter adviser Shubhra Mehedi, Jamalpur correspondent of Bangladesh Pratidin; adviser Rakib Hasan Nayan, Jamalpur correspondent of Kaler Kantho; vice-president Sakif Bhuiyan Koushik; general secretary Mohammad Zakaria; joint general secretary Abritti Amin Eva; and organising secretary Umar Faruk, along with other members.
