Driven by humanitarian and social responsibility, the Adamdighi upazila unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho distributed meals among more than 200 destitute, helpless, and underprivileged people at Santahar Railway Junction Station in Bogura on Friday.
The humanitarian initiative took place at the railway junction in the afternoon.
Members of the organisation handed over meal packets
directly to floating individuals, manual day-labourers, and destitute people
residing at the station, bringing visible relief and smiles to their faces.
The distribution programme was attended by Adamdighi upazila unit Vice-Presidents Ahsan Habib Tuhin and Shahina Joarder, General Secretary Hasibul Islam Shakil, Joint General Secretary Ashikuzzaman Chhoton, Organising Secretary Shakila Akhter, Office Secretary Ranjan Kumar, and Executive Member Chhaya Akhter, among other members.
Speaking on the occasion, Tariqul Islam Jentu, adviser to the upazila unit and local correspondent of the daily Kaler Kantho, remarked: "Practising humanity should not be confined to specific days or occasions.
True humanity lies in standing by the underprivileged and helpless people of
society in their times of need. Bashundhara Shuvosangho regularly carries out
humanitarian and social outreach programmes to bring smiles to people's faces
and consolidate the bonds of mutual empathy and cooperation."
Organisers observed that if people from diverse walks of
life come forward to support such noble initiatives, it will significantly
alleviate the hardships of the vulnerable while fostering broader civic
compassion and human values across society.
