An exchange-of-views meeting was held between Bashundhara Shuvosangho and members of the North South University (NSU) Social Services Club at the Shuvosangho head office on Wednesday to engage youth in social welfare, accelerate voluntary activities, and bolster mutual cooperation in humanitarian work.
The meeting focused on diverse humanitarian interventions,
youth leadership development, volunteer drives, and supporting underprivileged communities
across the country.
Eminent fiction writer, Bashundhara Group Advisor, and Bashundhara Shuvosangho chief Imdadul Haq Milan, alongside Shuvosangho Director Zakaria Zaman, represented the host platform.
The NSU Social Services Club
delegation included Humaira Iqbal Ahona, Taymuna Binte Shams, Nazifa Ulfat
Fariha, Tasnia Rahman Afrin, Tanay Paul, Tazim, Fuad, and Nabil, among others.
Applauding the NSU club's humanitarian footprint, Zakaria Zaman noted that youth-led campus initiatives project a positive message across society.
Expanding youth-driven social work fosters an environment of empathy and cooperation among people from all walks of life, he said.
Emphasising the responsibility of youth toward the nation, Imdadul Haq Milan urged students to direct their energy into constructive causes.
"Young people must work not only for themselves, but also for
society and the country. A humane society can be built only when the youth step
forward to stand by the destitute, assist the helpless, and address social
problems," he stated.
"Youth possess dynamism, creativity, and the power to
drive change. Channelling this energy positively can effectively resolve many
social crises. Voluntary activities bring youth closer to common people,
instilling a deep sense of responsibility and humanitarian values," Milan
added.
Both platforms discussed future avenues for mutual coordination in social and humanitarian drives. They also explored the prospects of undertaking joint initiatives for underprivileged welfare, public awareness, volunteer drives, and youth leadership development.
Organisers
expressed optimism that the engagement would strengthen social accountability
among students and unlock fresh opportunities for collaborative public service.
