Bashundhara Shuvosangho hosted a discussion session on cybersecurity awareness at Government Azizul Haque College in Bogura on Monday.

Professor Md Rafiqul Islam, head of the Department of Mathematics and an adviser to Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s college unit, attended the event as the chief guest, and Shuvosangho college unit President Muniruzzaman Munir.

He said that cyber risks are increasing alongside the growing use of technology in the modern era. He urged students to become aware of safe internet practices and take initiatives to raise awareness among others in their respective communities.

Rajibul Islam Shakil, convener of the Government Azizul Haque College unit of Chhatra Dal, said that young people must demonstrate responsibility in the digital world. He called on students to remain united and work together to prevent online rumours and cybercrime of all kinds.

Chhatra Dal college unit’s Member Secretary Rafiul Al-Amin said that various forms of fraud on social media have increased significantly in recent times. Therefore, students must remain vigilant while using the internet and take precautions to protect their personal information.

The program was moderated by Tarmin Akter, information secretary of the Government Azizul Haque College branch of Bashundhara Shuvosangho. Md Tahmidur Rahman, a multimedia reporter for Kaler Kantho, delivered the keynote discussion on cybersecurity.

He advised students not to click on unfamiliar links, install unknown apps, or fall for online offers and temptations, and urged them to remain vigilant.
