Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a tree-planting programme in Feni’s Fulgazi upazila on Monday (7 Sept) to help protect the environment, increase greenery and mitigate the adverse impacts of climate change.
The
programme was held at the premises of Noaz Foyzunnesa Islamia Alim Madrasa in
Amzadhat Union in the afternoon.
Shuvosangho Fulgazi
upazila unit President and journalist Saiful Islam presided over the programme,
conducted by the organisation’s Vice-President and journalist Rabiul Azim Chowdhury
Rahat.
The
participants planted saplings of various fruit-bearing and medicinal trees,
including neem, amla, guava and olive.
Among
others, Noaz Foyzunnesa Islamia Alim Madrasa Superintendent Zainal Abedin,
Vidyutsahi member Anwar Hossain Tipu, teacher Maulana Aminul Islam and Amzadhat
Model Madrasa Superintendent Maulana Hafiz Abir Hossain attended the programme
as special guests.
Bashundhara Shuvosangho
members Kamruzzaman Parvez Munna and Imam Hossain Ador, along with other
members and local dignitaries, were also present.
Saiful Islam
said planting trees was essential to protect environmental balance, mitigate
the adverse impacts of climate change and ensure a liveable environment for
future generations.
“Planting
trees alone is not enough; every sapling must be properly cared for to ensure
its survival. Bashundhara Shuvosangho will continue such social and
environment-friendly activities in the future,” he said.
