Bashundhara Shuvosangho holds discussion on social change in Shariatpur

The Shariatpur district unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a discussion meeting titled “Social and Voluntary Organisations Are a Force for Social Change” in the Court Area on Saturday.

With the participation of Shuvosangho members, well-wishers, and representatives from different sectors, the event also focused on strengthening the organisation’s activities, recruiting new members, maintaining organisational discipline, and forming a new committee.

Shariatpur district unit Shuvosangho President Advocate Mizanur Rahman Molla presided over the programme. The chief guest was Md Abdul Karim, assistant professor of the Department of Law at ZH Sikder University of Science and Technology and president of the university unit Shuvosangho.

Special guest Shariful Alam Imon, newly elected sports and cultural secretary of Shariatpur Press Club, adviser to the district unit Shuvosangho, and Shariatpur correspondent of Kaler Kantho, also spoke at the event.

In his speech, Abdul Karim said, “Bashundhara Shuvosangho is not just an organisation; it is a platform for promoting humanitarian values and social responsibility. Youth participation is crucial for social transformation. 

“By developing the skills, leadership qualities, and humanitarian values of young people, Shuvosangho is playing a positive role in changing society.”

Shariful Alam said, “Young people can develop genuine leadership qualities through serving humanity. Members of Shuvosangho should become more actively involved in humanitarian and social initiatives. Everyone must remain conscious of ensuring that every activity of the organisation benefits the people.”

The meeting also included discussions on members’ responsibilities, organisational discipline, participation in volunteer activities, and future action plans. 

Participants expressed their commitment to working together to expand the activities of Bashundhara Shuvosangho. They also agreed to intensify membership recruitment efforts and move forward with the formation of a new committee in the near future.
