On the occasion of Martyrs’ Day and International Mother Language Day, the Sabujbagh Thana unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised an awareness campaign calling for the prevention of distortion of the Bangla language, enhancement of its dignity, and the use of standard Bangla across all platforms.
The programme was held on Friday (21 Feb) at 11:00am
on a roadside location in the Sabujbagh Thana area.
The initiative was conducted under the guidance of
Dhaka Metropolitan Coordinator Abdul Hannan Milton and led by Sabujbagh Thana
unit President Sagir Md Yasin and General Secretary Abdul Qadir.
During the event, members of the organisation
gathered to display placards promoting the proper practice and correct usage of
the Bangla language.
The placards carried messages urging people to
ensure accurate spelling and appropriate language use.
Later, the placards were placed in visible and safe
locations so that students and people from different walks of life visiting the
area on Martyrs’ Day could see them and become more conscious about proper
language usage.
Among those present were Rupganj Thana unit
President Md Ehsanul Haque; Sabujbagh Thana unit Vice Presidents Saddam and
Rehana; Joint General Secretary Jihad; Organising Secretary Imran; Sports
Secretary Akash; Cultural Affairs Secretary Sohag; Technology Affairs Secretary
Prashanta; Women and Children Affairs Secretary Shefali; Social Welfare
Secretary Nasir; and other members of the organisation.
Speaking at the event, Milton said, “Bangla is not
merely a means of communication—it is the foundation of our identity, culture,
and nationhood. Preventing distortion of the language and ensuring its proper
practice is a moral responsibility of the younger generation.”
Ehsanul Haque said, “We will continue to carry out
such awareness activities regularly to build a culture of using standard Bangla
in social media, educational institutions, and mass media.”
The organisers affirmed that similar programs will
continue in the future to safeguard the dignity of the Bangla language and
promote its correct usage.
