It was not just food that was shared—it was love. In this shared moment of humanity, age, profession, or identity held little meaning.

United by compassion and a sense of humanitarian responsibility, Bashundhara Shuvosangho’s Dinajpur Government College unit on Sunday distributed one-time meals among street children and destitute people living in dire conditions at Dinajpur railway station.

Organisers said that today’s children are the future of tomorrow. Yet, due to the harsh realities of life, many children lose the shelter of parental care and are forced onto the streets. Hunger, poverty, and uncertainty push them toward an unsafe and insecure life. Neglect has become a constant companion in the lives of street children—some beg, while others collect waste paper to survive. Even in severe cold, many are seen without warm clothing, which is truly heartbreaking and inhumane.

Dinajpur Government College unit Shuvosangho President Arup Kumar Roy said, “Standing beside the helpless, the poor, and street children and engaging in social welfare activities is the core objective of Bashundhara Shuvosangho.

“When young people come forward, even the toughest tasks become easier. We want service to the country and society to be the guiding call of young hearts. This small effort on the path of humanity is our greatest identity.”

Dinajpur Government College unit Shuvosangho Vice-President Protab Chandra Roy, assistant organising secretaries Md Atikul Islam and Sourav Karmakar, Finance Secretary Barnali Mirza, and Executive members Zinia Afsari, Rubaiya Rahman, and Tamal Rahman were present.

This humanitarian initiative brought smiles to the faces of street children and the destitute, while instilling a deep sense of responsibility and fulfilment among the volunteers.
