Discussion session on proper use of ICT held in Barguna

Bashundhara Shuvosangho organised a discussion session in Patharghata of Barguna to raise awareness among students about the proper use of information and communication technology (ICT).

The session was held at 11:00am on Tuesday at the auditorium of Taslima Memorial Academy in Patharghata upazila.

The event, arranged with the participation of students from Taslima Memorial Academy, was attended as the chief guest by Mirza Shahidul Islam Khaled, chief adviser of the Patharghata unit of Bashundhara Shuvosangho and Patharghata correspondent of the daily Kaler Kantho.

Special guests included Mehedi Sikder, general secretary of Bashundhara Shuvosangho, and Mirza Mahatab Uddin Suman, a teacher of Taslima Memorial Academy.

The event was presided over by Shafiqul Islam Khokon, president of the organisation, while Shoaib Tasin, a member of Bashundhara Shuvosangho, moderated the programme.

The discussants highlighted the correct and responsible use of information technology by students, discussing both its positive aspects and the harmful effects of misuse. Particular emphasis was placed on awareness in internet use, cyber risks, and the importance of ethics in a technology-dependent life.

The speakers said that with proper guidance and awareness, information technology can become a blessing for students. They stressed that a combined effort from families, educational institutions and social organisations is necessary to ensure this.
