A delegation from the Dhaka University Central Students' Union (DUCSU) currently visiting China received a warm and colourful civic reception from Bangladeshi expatriates living in the country.
The reception was held on Friday evening (22 May) at
a local hotel in Shanghai, where members of the Bangladeshi community gathered
in a festive and enthusiastic atmosphere.
Teachers, researchers, students, businesspeople, and

greetings from the expatriate community.

Speaking at the event, DUCSU Vice President Shadik

by Bangladeshi expatriates in China. He emphasised that a prosperous Bangladesh
could be built through youth unity, good governance, honesty, and capable
leadership.
He also highlighted the important role of
expatriates, human resource development, and remittances in advancing the
country’s economy.
DUCSU General Secretary SM Farhad described
Bangladeshi students and professionals in China as valuable assets for the
nation’s future development. He stressed the importance of leveraging
technological knowledge, research experience, and international exposure gained
in China to advance Bangladesh’s progress.
According to him, stronger coordination between
young leadership inside the country and skilled Bangladeshis abroad could
significantly accelerate national development.
During the event, expatriate Bangladeshis also underscored
the importance of learning from China’s development model, modern
infrastructure, technological advancement, and governance system.
They called for strengthening the rule of law,
combating corruption, and expanding the use of information technology to move
Bangladesh forward.
Speakers at the programme noted that despite living
abroad, Bangladeshi expatriates remain deeply optimistic about the country’s
future and its emerging leadership.
They also expressed hope that the DUCSU delegation’s
visit would further strengthen people-to-people connections and mutual
understanding between the youth of Bangladesh and China.
As part of their week-long visit, the 15-member
DUCSU delegation is visiting various universities, student organisations,
research institutions, science and technology centres, and economic
establishments across China.
The delegation is also exploring several
