Crude bomb explodes targeting private car in Mirpur

A crude bomb exploded on the bonnet of a private car in front of Sony Cinema Hall in the capital’s Mirpur-1 on Sunday night.

The incident occurred at around 8:35pm.

According to law enforcement sources, unidentified assailants arrived at the scene on a motorcycle, hurled the crude bomb at the moving car and fled immediately.

Confirming the incident, Officer-in-Charge of Mirpur Model Police Station Md Hafizur Rahman said he was on his way to the scene and would provide further details after assessing the situation.

Meanwhile, law enforcement agencies are conducting operations to identify and arrest those involved in the incident, sources said.
