At 11am, party leaders and activists placed floral wreaths at Biplob Udyan, a site associated with the memory of martyred president Ziaur Rahman, paying tribute to those who sacrificed their lives for the country. A blood donation programme was also held there.
Later, Chattogram City Corporation (CCC) Administrator Dr Shahadat Hossain placed a floral wreath at Biplob Udyan.
