The Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) has announced a general holiday for all garment factories across the country on 7 November to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
The organisation disclosed the decision in a notice issued on Thursday.
On 21 October, the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification declaring 7 November a public holiday every year to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day.
At a cabinet meeting held on 5 October, the government decided to observe 7 November as National Revolution and Solidarity Day. It also decided to include the day in Category 'Ka' of the circular on the observance of national and international days.
Following the cabinet decision, the Ministry of Public Administration issued the notification. In line with the government's decision, the BGMEA has now announced a general holiday for all garment factories across the country.
