State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir and Liu Haixing, Minister of the International Department of the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, have discussed ways to strengthen bilateral relations, including cooperation in trade, investment, connectivity and development.
The discussions took place at a breakfast meeting hosted by Humaiun Kobir in honour of Liu at State Guest House Padma in Dhaka on Thursday.
Liu visited Bangladesh from 3 to 5 November.

During the meeting, both sides recalled the longstanding friendship between Bangladesh and China and expressed satisfaction with the outcomes of the Bangladesh prime minister's visit to China in June this year, according to a press release issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Liu also recalled the contributions of his father, former Chinese ambassador to Bangladesh Liu Shuqing, to strengthening relations between the two countries.
Highlighting the important role of the International Department of the CPC Central Committee (IDCPC) in China's foreign policy, Liu assured that his office would work relentlessly to further strengthen bilateral ties.
Both sides expressed their commitment to taking the relationship to new heights under the framework of a "China-Bangladesh Community with a Shared Future in the New Era".
They
also exchanged views on political and party-to-party exchanges, trade,
investment, connectivity and development cooperation.
During
the meeting, Humaiun Kobir sought China's continued support for the early
repatriation of Rohingyas to Myanmar.
