DSHE directs institutions to mark 7 Nov with discussions, essays

The government has directed educational institutions across the country to organise special discussions and essay competitions among students to mark National Revolution and Solidarity Day on 7 November.

The Secondary and Higher Education Division of the Ministry of Education issued the directive on Tuesday.
According to the directive, a preparatory meeting was held on 28 October, chaired by the senior secretary of the Ministry of Home Affairs, to finalise the programmes for observing the day.

The meeting decided to arrange discussions on the significance of the day and essay competitions for students at educational institutions. The directive asked the University Grants Commission (UGC) and the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education (DSHE) to take necessary steps to implement the government-announced programmes.

The letter was signed by Manjurul Alam, senior assistant secretary (additional charge) of the Secondary and Higher Education Division.
