The concerned lawmakers renamed the “e-Parliament” project
as “e-Bangladesh Parliament” during the first meeting of the project implementation
committee on Tuesday,. The renaming was approved considering the scheme’s "international recognition and
acceptability."
The meeting was held at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban with
Deputy Speaker Barrister Kayser Kamal in the chair.
Committee members Whip ABM Ashraf Uddin (Nijan), Nayab Yusuf
Ahmed, Saeed Al Noman, Humam Qader Chowdhury, Barrister Mohammad Nazibur
Rahman, Akhtar Hossain, Lutfullahhel Majed and Anna Minz attended the meeting.
A presentation on the project was made at the meeting, followed
by detailed discussions on various aspects of the initiative aimed at making
parliamentary activities more modern, dynamic and technology-driven.
The meeting emphasised ensuring proper implementation of the
project, coordination among its different components and avoiding duplication
of work.
The meeting also formed a three-member subcommittee to thoroughly
review the project’s components, including the sound system and other
activities, to identify any duplication or overlapping of work.
The subcommittee comprises Saeed Al Noman, Lutfullahhel
Majed and Anna Minz. It has been tasked with examining the relevant components
and submitting a report with necessary recommendations to the main committee.

present at the meeting.
