Prime Minister inaugurates Bangladesh Solar Expo-2026
The theme of this year's Solar Expo is ‘Make Every Inch of Rooftop Count, Increase Income Through Solar Power’

Prime Minister Tarique Rahman on Tuesday inaugurated the Bangladesh Solar Expo-2026 in the capital, highlighting the government's focus on promoting renewable energy and expanding solar power generation.
The inaugural ceremony of the expo was held at the Bangladesh-China Friendship Conference Centre in Dhaka on Tuesday morning.
Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Minister Iqbal Hasan Mahmud presided over the programme.
Deputy Press Secretary to the Prime Minister Zahidul Islam Rony confirmed the development.
The theme of this year's expo is "Make Every Inch of Rooftop Count, Increase Income Through Solar Power".
State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Anindya Islam Amit, Finance Secretary Dr Md Khairuzzaman Majumder and Power Division Secretary Mirana Mahrook were also present on the stage.
Ministers, state ministers, members of parliament, secretaries and senior government officials from different ministries attended the event.
The Power Division under the Ministry of Power, Energy and Mineral Resources and the Infrastructure Development Company Limited (IDCOL) have jointly organised the expo for the first time.
